This was amazing and not just because I love dogs. Summer has dog behavior down pat and gives reasonable explanations for that behavior from the dog's perspective.
I loved how the dog said, "Oh my dog" instead of oh my God.
There were a lot of funny moments such as how one of the guys puts a bandage on her and she says it feels better. Then she waits for him to leave before she rips it off to give the wound a good licking which she says was even better.
She agrees to look out for rats and share if she finds any. She announces herself to the neighborhood in a friendly matter just so everyone knows she's there and knows that's her territory.
One of my favorite quotes from the dog about being left alone in the house and getting on the bed:
"...(the man) insisted on leaving, he shouldn't whine about what happened while he was gone."
There was instalove doggy style: "My kind are prone to falling in love hard and fast."
All in all a cute story, about a cute couple (and not everything is perfect at first) and a really cute dog, who would hate being called cute. Easily five stars.
