Taxes and Tardis
This is one of the sweetest stories I've ever read. It doesn't have a lot of plot, just the two main characters getting to know each other and falling in love, but I loved every minute of it. Unlike most stories about nerds, the accountant isn't geeky with no social skills; he's just a guy who likes those things jocks consider nerdy. And it's dang cute. The other guy is a jock kind of guy, but he isn't stereotypical, either. He doesn't really know anything about the science fiction, likes to hang out with the guys and shoot pool, but he isn't constantly talking about sports and beer. The book wasn't perfect, I do prefer a plot, but the story was so well done I didn't care. The ending was adorable. When I finished, I wanted to read it again right away, and I am not a re-reader. I want a sequel. I want to read more about these characters.
I am a Doctor Who fan, and there were a couple of other science fiction references which made it all the more enjoyable, but you really don't need to know any of that stuff. The protagonist from whose perspective the story is written doesn't know anything and you can go right along with him getting explanation for those nerdy things.
I recommend this for anyone who loves cool nerds, nice jocks, sweet humorous love stories, Doctor Who, and basically anyone who likes a good M/M romance.
