Mine
Mary Calmes is now officially on my official list of officially favorite writers. She has such a gift for characterization! Her main characters are not just individual from one another, they are unique among all characters in any book. I loved Jory and I didn't think she could come close to matching his complexity but I was wrong. Landry is even more quirky and special as he's even more complex. Trevan is also different. Both characters share traits with Jory and fortunately very few with Max except the possessiveness. But you probably got that from the title. I adore them both. The pacing was excellent, the sex hot, the plot a little rough but it came together. The only thing I didn't like about this book was the glamorizing of crime. But it felt fairly real to me and it worked for the story. There is definitely room for a sequel and since this just came out last year, I can hope. I want to meet more of Trev's family and I want him to get out of the business. Plus, I just want more of him and Landry.
