Imperfect
This was a sweet idea but there was no substance, no suspense, no real mystery, no time for me to get to know the characters enough to know how I should react. There were all kinds of standard romance tropes: fear for someone's safety masked as anger, difficulty saying "I love you," etc. but nothing had context to make it mean anything. The solution to the mystery and a social issue were just too pat. I think this author has potential but this just didn't hit the mark.
