I need help. I just bought 36 books today, including one I accidentally bought twice. I got one free, too. In the past two days, I've also won three more books in games in a group on Goodreads . I have acquired ninety-six books this month so far and it's only half over. Seriously, thank god for ereaders or I'd be the guy in Junk by Josephine Myles. (Kobo has a discount coupon for 50% off--I used the code BookRiot50* over and over again--and I couldn't help myself. I seriously need a twelve step group.
I'm trying to justify all this as my Christmas present to myself but I feel like I may be rationalizing. My two saving graces are that 1. I read on average a book to a book and a quarter a day so I will read that many books in about a month and 2. I got an extra freelance job this month that can cover it. Cover the $109 I spent today alone.
When does this become unhealthy?
*If that code doesn't work for you, try NovEnd50 or yournext487. I can share with you more single-use ones I've found if none of those works. Just PM me on GR.
