I downloaded this because I thought it would be sweet to read about a gorgeous guy who is in love with a plus-sized woman. I'd still like it but I was totally turned off when the story starts out with her waiting for the man of her dreams--this ripped guy in hot clothes--and when he gets there she's wearing flannel pajama bottoms and a sweatshirt. I kept picturing her in them and it was so not sexy I couldn't get past it. Plus, she's making sugary hot chocolate with marshmallows. God, what a stereotype: the fat chick dressed like crap making fattening food. It's not that that wouldn't be okay as part of a book, it's not unrealistic, but having it be the center of an erotic romance just didn't work for me.
The story felt realistic enough, although I wanted a bit more of him telling her how she's wonderful inside, too, but I just wasn't into her at all. She felt dowdy and down on herself too much, she had no real personality, and I just didn't buy why he was so into her. (I don't know why she was into him, either, except that if he looks like the guy on the cover, he's good for a one-night stand, or a hundred.)
The ending was sweet but ridiculous (and dangerous: she could have swallowed and choked on that thing!.
I was really disappointed. I even paid for this crap.
